What is Heaven and How Can We Have It?

Why Jesus – Day 16

Today’s Devotional

Although I do believe there really was a Garden of Eden on this Earth, the word Eden is representative of Heaven because Eden means Paradise. And Paradise is the Presence of God, which is Heaven.

So, when time first began, we were with God in Heaven, because we had no shame and no sin. And of course, the fall happened through Adam and Eve (the first man and woman). So now, they were kicked out of the Presence of God–out of Paradise.

What is Heaven and how can we have it? These are questions that are easily answered through Jesus Christ!

Today we have that Paradise back because Jesus died for our sins and reconciled us back to God. So now we get to be in the Presence of God at any time, any moment, because as Believers, we have the Holy Spirit in our heart through Jesus. So now, we literally have Eden within our heart. We have the Kingdom of God in our hearts. So, we live in Paradise, even in a corrupted world.

“And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed.”  Genesis 2:8 ESV
