Book Review: Heavenly Wit by Teresa Ann Criswell

February 10, 2020 by alisa hope wagner Leave a Comment

My dear friend, Teresa Ann, texted me wanting advice/help in getting her book on Kindle. She has been a faithful contributor to my writing ministry, enLIVEN Devotionals, which produces devotional anthologies with proceeds going to world missions. She freely donates her words, talent and time to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need, so I was honored to pour into her work, as well.

I saw in Teresa who I was many years ago when, as a new Indie writer, I had to navigate much of the publishing world alone. Through persistence and God’s grace, I am able to produce quality, award-winning books that shine the light of Jesus. So I enthusiastically came alongside Teresa to help make her words available to the world.

We decided on a time to chat. I take my daughter to tumbling every Monday, and the drive is long. So I asked Teresa to call me during that 30-minute window. The most awesome thing about our conversation was that my 11-year old daughter did not get on her phone at all while we chatted. Instead, she absorbed our entire, faith-centric conversation.

Teresa talked about her heart for the Gospel, her intimate relationship with the Lord and what God was showing her. She even talked about moments of correction and how she appreciated God teaching her. Her humility and honesty were so apparent, and my daughter just soaked it up. I could literally see her little mind and heart absorbing our conversation.

“Yes!” I thought. “Now my daughter knows that I’m not the only one who talks like this. There are other women out there who love the Lord and enjoy doing life with Him!”

That 25-minute conversation was so precious to me because my daughter experienced women speaking tangibly about faith. With all the influences that the world tries to push on my daughter, she got to experience real talk from flawed but saved women.

I’m excited to announce that Teresa’s book will be available officially March 6th, but she is doing a “soft” release of the Heavenly Wit: Seeing Mission Fields in the Midst of Battlefields ebook. She is offering this anointed book for free until February 14th, and she would so appreciate a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads, so future readers will know that this book is both anointed and encouraging!

Also, I hope you love the cover. God designed in through me with a beautiful theme already in mind. Here are a few of my favorite quotes from Teresa!

Here is my review on Amazon!

This book!!! So anointed and God is all over Teresa’s heart and her biblical teachings. It is obvious in each chapter that Teresa has an active, lively relationship with God through Jesus Christ. She has s powerful yet personable way of relaying spiritual truths from God’s Word to her readers.

Teresa’s writing is so inspiring and full of love and grace that you will literally soak up this book, and it will be like a well-spring of the Holy Spirit to your soul. Do you need some encouragement in your walk of faith? Do you desire someone you trust to speak life into your heart? Teresa’s book, Heavenly Wit, will boost your spirits and revive your soul!

Our High Priest

Why Jesus – Day 13 Today’s Devotional A lot of times people think that being tempted is sin, but it’s not. Even Jesus was tempted. We have an enemy who is constantly trying to bring us down and attack us. And he will tempt us with an array of things. But you don’t have to be. […]

On Earning God’s Promises

Why Jesus – Day 12 Today’s Devotional A lot of people try to earn God’s promises, thinking, “If I’m good enough, smart enough, read enough books, fill in the blank…or that I need to be whatever God needs me to be, then God will help.” That is just not the truth. You cannot earn God’s promises. […]

God’s Vantage Point

Why Jesus – Day 11 Today’s Devotional If we are so busy that we don’t sit and reflect on the spirit in us, we’re going to go through life and never really understand where we’re going and what’s around us. Are we making an impact? Are we being obedient to what the Holy Spirit is saying? […]

Faithful and True

Why Jesus – Day 10 Today’s Devotional The Rider on the White Horse in Revelation 19:11 is Jesus Christ. He is Faithful and True. A lot of people cannot understand why Jesus is Faithful and True especially in this world where we have so much pain, heartache and sin. But we have to remember that God […]

Suffering Transformed into His Glory

Why Jesus – Day 9 Today’s Devotional Glory comes after suffering. Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection from the grave to the right hand side of God is the prime example of how God can transform suffering into His glory. “For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you […]

Our Place in God through Jesus: (10) Prize

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3.13-14 NIV).  We have an […]

Our Place in God through Jesus: (9) Provision

“Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the Lord it will be […]
