Why Jesus – Day 26
Today’s Devotional
Christ and Messiah mean the same thing — the Anointed One. Jesus, the Messiah, is the One we have been waiting for. He is the promised King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who is going to establish God’s Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.
“And Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.” Matthew 1:16 ESV
Christ and Messiah both mean “Anointed One.” Jesus is the Messiah who came into the world to forgive us our sin and bring us back into relationship with a holy God and His Kingdom.
As Gentiles, we are adopted in through Jesus Christ, because He died for all of God’s people. He loves us so much.
“But He was pierced for our transgressions;
He was crushed for our iniquities;
upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with His wounds we are healed.“
Isaiah 53:5 ESV
