Bringing God with you every moment is a choice
Moses understand that no matter how much he learned and grew as a leader, he could not do it alone. He could not accomplish the great things that God had for him without God’s help. Moses told God: “If Your presence does not go, don’t make us go up from here” (Exodus 33.15 HSCB). Moses would rather stay and wait then move without God’s presence.
When we begin to rely on our own strength, we will forge ahead without asking God’s guidance in the matter. If God doesn’t go with us, we will have to support the results of our choices on our own. Eventually, our strength and resources will run dry, and we’ll wonder why everything seems so hard.
Moses saw his need for divine help. He had a million plus people with all sorts of talents and resources at his disposal, but even with all that support, Moses knew they wouldn’t be enough. Moses could have asked God for more resources, more connections, more wisdom or more influence (none of which are wrong requests), but he got down to the core problem: nothing valuable and eternal is possible without God.
We are in desperate need of a Savior. We are nothing without God. All the talent, money and influence in the world doesn’t make a bit of difference if God is not with us. We can’t do it alone. Once we realize our complete dependence on God and His saving grace through Jesus Christ, we won’t make any decisions or take any actions unless we know that God is going with us.
When we finally begin to rely on our limitless God, He can do the miraculous through us and our efforts, and everyone will know that He is with us. Whatever we do and wherever we go, we want to ask God to join us.
“The Lord replied, ‘Listen, I am making a covenant with you in the presence of all your people. I will perform miracles that have never been performed anywhere in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people around you will see the power of the Lord—the awesome power I will display for you'” (Exodus 34.10 NLT).

Bring God with you by seeing your need for Him
God is the creator of all things. He dwells outside of time, and He sees our victory. He has unlimited resources ready to help us achieve His will, but we must rely on Him. We may want to rely on people and things that we can see and touch, but only God can fulfill His plans in and through us.
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible'” (Matthew 19.26 NLT).
