So many times we try to make changes to external circumstances in our lives when God wants to make changes within us. Don’t fear. God’s “tweaks” in our internal lives are beautiful. Yes, our flesh will be a little broken, but the spiritual insight and growth we gain will be well worth it. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12.1-3 NIV).
Sometimes the things that hinder us are not forces stopping us but our unwillingness to move forward into God’s will. Did you know it is just as much a sin to disobey God as it is not to obey God? Is there something He wants you to do, but you keep putting off? You might be robbing yourself of great provision, blessing and influence in a world that greatly needs Jesus. Don’t put off what He is encouraging you to do. It may be as simple as getting healthy, starting a Bible study, thinking more positively or even having faith that you are highly favored and loved. The world is changing, and we need to obey God’s promptings to be ready for each season that arises. Whatever it is, start today. Let God make those small “tweaks” in your life that will change the trajectory of your destiny.
